(ICOET) has created these privacy and security policies in order to demonstrate
our firm commitment to protecting the private information you provide to ICOET.
The following discloses the information gathering and dissemination practices
for www.ca.us.
Your User Account
To access many of the services available through the ICOET site, you will need
to create an Account. You are required to provide your name, e-mail address,
referral source, city of residence, country of residence. You will then create a
user name and password. Your contact and personal information is primarily used
in the construction of your resume. You are solely responsible for the accuracy
of all information contained in your Account and in your resume. You can update
your account at any time by clicking "Account" in the upper right hand
corner of the page. You may modify your account by making your desired changes
or emptying fields. Click "Save" and the process is complete. ICOET
reserves the right to use aggregated, anonymous data about its users, including
personal information you have provided, for purposes including deriving
statistical data, advertising to potential employers and job seekers,
determining compliance with various governmental program requirements.
Creating a Resume
ICOET's resume listing feature gives you the option of hiding portions of your
resume from public view, including your name and contact information. You may
also delete or change your resume information at any. To the extent that you
choose to list your resume and do not choose to hide portions of resume from
public view, your information will not be kept private. You are solely
responsible for the accuracy of all information contained in your resume and
what information contained in your resume is open to public view.
Applying For Our Programs
In order to determine if you are eligible for any of ICOET's government-funded
services, you must provide contact information (for example, your name and
address), unique identifiers (for example, your social security number),
demographic information (for example, age, income level, family size, gender,
citizenship, Selective Service registration, educational and work history,
participation in or eligibility for other government programs, disability
status, veteran status, homeless status, criminal record), and family
information (for example, names, ages, relationship to you). This data is used
only to determine your potential eligibility for one of ICOET's programs, and is
not shared or made available to the public. You will not be contacted by a
representative of ICOET
Public Forums
ICOET makes chat rooms, forums, and message boards available to you at the Web
site, after you have created your account. Please remember that any information
disclosed in these areas becomes public information. You should exercise caution
when deciding to disclose your personal information.
Links to Other Sites
This Web site contains links to other sites which are beyond the control of
ICOET. The privacy practices at these other sites may differ from the privacy
and security policies of ICOET. ICOET cannot and does not guarantee the security
and/or privacy of any information you disclose while visiting other sites. ICOET
is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.
Cookies
You may be familiar with the use of "cookies", which are nuggets of
information placed by a Web site in a storage place on your computer. ICOET does
not use "cookies."
Security
ICOET uses industry-standard, SSL (secure socket layer) with 128 bit encryption
to protect your information. In addition, your account is password-protected so
that you, and only you, has access to this personal information.
We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone.
ICOET will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an
unsolicited email. Also, remember to sign out of your ICOET account and close
your browser window when you have finished your work. This is to ensure that
others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a
computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a
library or Internet cafe.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be
guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while ICOET strives to protect your
personal information, ICOET cannot ensure or warrant the security of any
information you transmit online, and you do so at your own risk. Once ICOET
receives your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on
our system.
Children's Guidelines
We do not specifically collect information from children. If you are under 13
years old please do not disclose or provide any personal information on this Web
site. ICOET does not allow any users under 13 years of age to use this site.
ICOET does not provide any personally identifying information from any of its
users less than 13 years of age, regardless of its source, to any third party,
for any purpose. We believe that children should obtain their parents' (or other
legal guardians') consent prior to giving out personal information. If you are
